The Unique Zenvo ST1Hand Built Supercar 2009

The Unique Zenvo ST1Hand Built Supercar 2009
2009 Zenvo ST1

Zenvo Automotive was founded with one goal in mind. To produce a unique hand built supercar. The developing of the prototype started in 2004. The prototype is completed and the car is in the last testing phase. In 2009 Zenvo Automotive will start the series production of the car, Zenvo ST1. It will be a very limited edition and only 15 cars will be built and sold to special approved customers.
The Zenvo ST1 exterior design works from nearly every angle, and apes notable features from everything from the Lamborghini Gallardo to the Nissan GT-R, to the Porsche Carerra GT. Though some ST1 details are familiar, the Danish supercar as a total package manages to avoid looking like a who's-who mashup.
Zenvo designed the car in-house, and its big gaping front air vents draw the eye over the tight, taught bodywork. Though obvious Lamborghini comparisons are made when speaking of the front end, the ST1 has softer body corners leading along the main body line toward the rear, keeping it original.
The outleted hood and rear C-pillar line, with the wraparound rear spoiler, calls to mind the new Lotus Evora. And, of course, the air intake grills just aft of the front wheels are a clear reference to the Nissan GT-R.

When all is said and done, though, the design works very well and befits a supercar with more than 1,100 horsepower. Zenvo will surely win some design awards for the 2010 ST1, should this beautiful beast make its production date of early next year, as promised.
The project was started back in 2004, and the first cars are -- optimistically -- planned for delivery in 2009. The first performance tests were completed in October and the rear-wheel-drive ST1 is claimed to have reached 62 mph in what we imagine was a traction-limited 3.2 seconds. The run to 120 was accomplished in just under nine seconds and the top speed is reported to be an electronically limited 233 mph. So a Veyron/Ultimate Aero/GT9/CCX-killer this is not.
The Zenvo ST1 certainly looks unique, with a very geometric appearance, including boomerang-shaped vents adorning the grille, hood and sides.
How well will the complete package from a completely unproven halo car manufacturer handle, perform and hold up to the abuse that each owner will surely give it? Only time will tell .............

2010 HONDA CR-Z CONCEPT CAR

Honda announced that the CR-Z (a car that Honda calls “a sporty hybrid model”) will be sold in Japan as early as February 2010. Honda will further enhance its lineup of compact hybrid models, which leverage the unique characteristics of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), including compact size, lightweight and high efficiency.
In addition, Honda is currently developing a new hybrid system which is intended to be installed on mid- to large-size vehicles. The launch date of the new hybrid coupe on other markets will be announced towards the end of 2009. Though the vehicle will continue to use the same 1.3 L VTEC engine found in Honda's Insight, it will have a more powerful electric motor, giving the car a total of 130 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. The Insight delivers 98 hp. The car should be able to go from 0 to 60 in 9 seconds and get an average fuel economy of 55 MPG.
Ito also confirmed that Honda will be producing a hybrid version of the Fit by the end of 2010. "I think everyone is going to go the way of hybrids," said Ito. "Bringing hybrids quickly to customers will be a major focus of our activities. I want Honda to be a speedy company."
The CR-Z concept vehicle made its world debut at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show in 2007. The CR-Z sporty hybrid will feature advanced technologies that deliver enjoyable driving for all while reducing the vehicle’s environmental footprint.
Furthermore Ito said Honda was also developing a larger hybrid system using 2 electric motors, similar to GMs 2-mode hybrid system. This will be used for larger vehicles, trucks, and SUVs.
